Tis the season: To spend...

It has been a long time since I last blogged.  It's not that I don't have anything to share.  I actually have a lot to show and plenty of time to do so but I have sort of lost interest.  Blogging started off as a way for me to replace my diary/journal that I kept in my college years, but it turned into a personal shopping blog.  It's not a bad thing; It was what interested me at that time, and I like to shop and share all the things I purchased.

This month has been especially hard for me to save money; Christmas season is always the worst.  The sad part is that it's not all the presents I buy -- it's what I end up buying for myself.  I buy it because I "need" it.  While I truly need winter clothes and work clothes, I don't need any of the other stuff I buy.  Maybe it is not that I have lost interest in blogging, but I feel overwhelmed with the amount of spending I do.

I'm a shopaholic.

I'm turning into a shopaholic.  I need help.  Everything I want is just so expensive! I know this is no excuse, but it was my Birthday month (yes, I know, I've already purchased the Chanel mini bag for that special day).I also bought matching Elsa Peretti earrings for my necklace at Tiffany & Co.  But you know what?  It has been busy at work.  Yesterday was the sixth day in a row I was at work this week.  After I was done working, I was exhausted and went shopping.  This is when more damage happened...

Best Day of My Life

Yesterday, was the best day of my life so far.  I watched the show, Harvey at Studio 54.  It was amazing! I loved it.  I was sitting in the third row so I got a great view of everything.  Jim Parsons signed my playbill, and I was starstruck!  My friend said I was like Raj from Big Bang Theory because I was unable to speak or move when he was in front of me.  Darn it.  Next time, I will hopefully have the courage to say something!   Sigh... It was most definitely worth waiting in the rain for him.   I still have the biggest smile on my face.  

Also, on my way home, I got a call from my friend in the west coast with great news!! I hope to share it soon.  And I thought my day couldn't get any better. ;-)

Kate Spade Gena Wedge

I should change the description of this blog to something like "comfortable fashion for petites".  I always shop for my shoes online, because it is so hard to find a size 5 in stores.  I never know if a shoe will fit or be comfortable enough until I receive them a few days later in the mail.   It is somewhat frustrating.  I also find it difficult to find fashionable, low heeled shoes that doesn't look like something an elderly person may wear.  

Kate Spade Wedges: 

With a cute leopard print and a heel description of 2 inches, I couldn't resist.  I took a chance with these  (final sale).  I believe these are true to size.  The height of the wedges are extremely comfortable for walking.  The front strap felt a little wide for my feet, but I will be putting foot petals to prevent sliding.   All in all, I am happy I took the risk!

I bought this at NM Last Call.  It was an extra 30% off the already discounted price.  These seem super comfortable to walk in.  I love the gold tip in the front, and there is also a gold wedge heel (0.75").  I originally wanted these Prada babes in nude, but I didn't want to spend that amount of money of a pair of strappy sandals.  This will do!

Givenchy Nightingale

I bought this online from Belle & Clive (invite here).  It's the Givenchy Nightingale small convertible tote in Cinnamon lambskin leather.  I wasn't sure if I should get a small or medium, but decided the small should be big enough for me.

 The following is a photo of me holding it.   I wanted to take a quick photo to show the size of the bag, so sorry for the mismatched outfit!  My pink sweats felt too comfortable to take off.  :-) 

I realized that this bag's lambskin leather material can scuff easily.  I wanted a low maintenance, every day kind of bag.  I'm still wondering if it is a keeper or not.  Any suggestions on how to maintain this type of leather?  Maybe I can use my Balenciaga nourishing cream (if I feel brave)?

My Adorable Cell Phone Case

While I was browsing on Ebay, I came across this adorable cell phone case for my Samsung Galaxy Vibrant. I wanted to find a cute case that was not overly flashy.  This is perfect.  I ordered the jelly case instead of the hard case for a better grip.  It fits my phone like a glove.  It comes in other animals as well.

Michael Kors Mini Runway Watch in Rose Gold from Bloomingdales. 33mm

I know the over-sized, men's style watches are in style, but for someone with a thin wrist like me, this 33mm sized watch is perfect.  I picked the rose gold color for two reasons: it complimented my skin's pink undertones and it matched the rose gold detail of my Balenciaga.  I had three links removed for a comfortably snug fit. 

CrewCuts Bangles $12.50 each.

I was so excited to find these bangles.  Most bangles just slide on and off too easily.  These are my first!  They fit!  I highly recommended these for petite wrists! The colors do not come out well on my phone camera, but in person, these are gorgeous and simple enough to not be child-like.  The diameter is 2 and 5/16".

CrewCuts Size 14 Cardigan.

Arms are a tad short on this cardigan, but I think I was too excited about the bangles and didn't care.  In contrast to what the photo shows, the color is actually a minty (light blue/green) color.  I love the color and the buttons.  This is for work. 

LOFT Petite Utility Blouse Spring Orange XXSP

I'm undecided if this is a keeper or not.  It is a loose fit.  My friend loved the color on me so I bought it.

This was an impulse buy.  I thought it was fun, because the frills look like they are dancing as I walk.   I love the bohemian look of it.  I usually use big bags and am not sure how much I would actually use this bag.  My mind was probably still clouded with the bangles.

This Past Week's Purchases: Anthropologie, LOFT, Forever 21, Express

Pilcro Stet Denim Rollups in Sky Size 25. from Anthropologie. $68.00

My gosh. These denim shorts are so comfortable.  They have that already worn in look and feel.  I just had to buy it even though it is pretty expensive for me for a pair of shorts.  I originally wanted the Bubblegum color, but it was sold out in my size in stores.  The shorts in the Natural color ran bigger than the Sky color.  The back pockets are a little big on me, but I decided to purchase them anyways.  They were too comfortable to pass up.     

Loft Petite XXSP Top.  I don't see it online anymore.

I love the way this shirt looks when it is on.  When I saw it on the hanger, I thought XXSP looked huge, but surprising it fit perfectly.  It has a cute, flowy look without making you look overwhelmingly balloon-like.   

Forever 21 Necklace

Express Zelda Jean Legging Size 0.  Green Grass.  

I originally wanted this in the Dusty Rose color.  It was sold out in my size in store... (of course, what else is new).  I tried on few other colors in the same size, but this Green Grass color was the ONLY one that fit snug.  I thought it was fate and bought them.  I'm having doubts now because...green?  I don't know if I can pull it off without it looking juvenile.  And yes, they are super long and will have to fold the bottom.  Should I return or keep them?  So far, my friends have told me to keep them.

Asos, Topshop, Forever21 Purchases

I cannot wait till it is beautiful and warm outside!  As much as I love wearing winter coats and layering, I am looking forward to wearing my new spring clothes.  Here are the new additions:

Asos Petite Dip Hem Maxi Dress. Grey.  Size 1. 

I love love love the way this high-low maxi dress looks on me.  This photo does not do justice.  I'm only 5ft tall.  The front of the dress hits me at the knee.  The back is a little long, but nothing a small heel can't fix. The material is stretchy, and the color looks more gray in person than the photos on the Asos website.  Gorgeous!

I love love love this top also.  When I first opened it from the packaging, my initial reaction was that it was going to be too small on me, but it fit perfectly.  It's made of a soft, stretchy material with a full zipper on the back.  I love the peplum style on this shirt.    

Topshop Petite Faux Leather Shorts.  Size 0.

My first purchase from Topshop are these shorts.  I must say, I am impressed.  I can think of so many ways to wear this.  The higher waist is a little snug on me.  I do not fancy short shorts; these are a good length.

I saw these skirts on the website first, but while I was deciding which color I should get, they sold out in my size!  I called my local Forever 21, and rushed to try them on.  I automatically assumed that the smallest size was a size small and did not bother to look for an extra small size.  It is a little big, but for less than 15 bucks, I can't complain.  I bought them in black and nude although, I prefer the black more since the wrinkles don't show as much.  I'm still on the hunt for a pleated skirt.

These pants are interesting.  For a petite girl like me, they are probably not the right style I should be wearing.  These pants are sheer, wide legged, and flowy.  I couldn't resist buying them.   I will have to hem them and wear them with wedges.   It will be a sort of an experiment.

Ann Taylor Shoes

This is my first purchase at Ann Taylor.  I've shopped at LOFT before but for some reason I never thought I would find anything at Ann Taylor.   I was wrong.  

Ann Taylor Leopard Print Haircalf Perfect Flats Size 5. 

These flats are gorgeous and well made!  I'm a little worried they might slip off my feet when I walk, but putting in some feet cushions should help if needed.  I can't wait to wear them.  I needed to stop wearing my Tory Burch Reva flats because the elastic was starting to make my heel feel numb and tingly.  I hope it wasn't damaging my nerves.  

Ann Taylor Simona Shearling Wedge Booties Size 5. 

I know, I know... another pair of black wedge booties.  Sorry! I must be addicted to them.  I promise, this is the last of the season.  These wedges look more elegant and expensive compared to the ones from Aerosoles.   If I had purchased these first, I wouldn't have bought my Aerosoles boots.  These shoes run maybe half a size small (compared to the Ann Taylor Leopard Print Calfskin Perfect Flats).  I won't be able to wear these with thick winter socks. The heels are about 3 inches.  I'm not a fan of the zipper in the back since the zipper feels a little stiff, and I worry it might dig in to my heels!  I would have liked it better with the zipper on the inner side of the shoes.  Tip Toes Cushions are needed for added comfort.   

The quality of these shoes are superb, in my opinion.   

I can't wait till new spring/summer styles come out!

Kindle Books: Aftertime, Rebirth, and Horizon by Sophie Littlefield

I am terrified of zombies!  These books gave me nightmares, but I couldn't put them down!  I'm a little sad that I finished reading them.  I want more!  Good thing the new episode of "The Walking Dead" will be on this weekend. 

Argh... I'm scared.

Old Navy Finds

I've read multiple positive reviews about Old Navy's Rock Star Jeggings, so I decided to check it out in store.  Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the colors that were available or the stiff material.   However, I decided to look around the store and was surprised to find some cute things!  Here's what I purchased:

Old Navy Pintucked Satin Blouse in Navy XS Regular, Mini-Messenger Bag in Neon Yellow, Lightweight Pom Pom scarf in Red.

The Old Navy store I went to does not sell petite sizes.  Most clothing items in Old Navy are too big for me to wear.  The Pintucked Satin Blouse is a flowy, oversized fit on me.  The material is sheer, light, and soft.   It would look cute with skinny jeans with a cardigan for cooler temperatures, or with shorts for the summer.

The Lightweight Pom Pom Scarf is adorable. I am such a sucker for pom pom scarves.  Jcrew sometimes has pom pom scarves, and I'm instantly attracted to them.  The material is not as soft as Jcrew scarves, but it is comfortable.

I found the Neon Yellow Mini-Messenger Bag on a mannequin.  It was the last one in the store and reminded me of the neon cross body bags from The Cambridge Satchel Company, and I had to have it!  Obviously, the material is faux leather.  It feels stiff (like cardboard almost).  The material is not the greatest, but for the price I can't complain.  It's quite small: enough to fit a smartphone, cardholder, and lipstick.  The cross body strap is adjustable.  No hole punchers necessary.

The material of these felt nice in stores.  I would have tried them on except XS sizes were not available in either style.  I'm not sure if I want to purchase it online at this point since I'm happy with the current purchases, and theses looked like an over sized fit.  Perhaps I would give it a try if it goes on sale. :-)
